Established in 1779, Bowmore was Islay’s first distillery, and is known for producing a medium peated Islay malt. This 15YO single malt whisky has spent 3 years in Oloroso sherry casks, giving the malt a lovely balance between the sherry and the classic Bowmore medium peat and tropical fruit style. The nose brings forth, raisins, spices, coffee and dried fruits. The palate is rich with oak, sherry and currant fruits, a touch of menthol also. The finish is spicy, sherried and toffeed. Great with a splash of water.
