Made in the fishing town of Oban for the last 200 years, this malt is part of Diageo’s Classic Malts of Scotland range. Full bodied and fruity, this is the most iconic expression from the distillery. A rich nose of citrus fruit peels with some smoke in the background. This isn’t peated in any way, but faint smoke comes through on the palate, after sweet cereal, and dried fruits. The finish is sweet with fruit, but drying with oak. Touch of salt also. Add one ice or a splash of soda for a great everyday-drinking full-bodied Scotch.
